The Road 2 Tampa Bay Volleyball Invitational Launches 2023 Season |
 |
Tampa Bay will not only host the penultimate event in volleyball in 2023 but will also usher in the NCAA volleyball season with a prestigious event featuring some of the nation’s most powerful programs. The Road 2 Tampa Bay Volleyball Invitational — featuring the Florida Gators, Penn State Nittany Lions, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the host institution USF Bulls — is set for Aug. 25-26 at Amalie Arena and USF’s Yuengling Center. EDI Wraps A Busy and Memorable April |
On Thursday, April 20, the Event Development Institute helped the After-School All-Stars Tampa Bay Cornhole Challenge come to life for the fourth straight year. Amidst Julian B. Lane’s iconic views of the downtown Tampa skyline, over 100 teams from the Tampa Bay area competed for the championship cup. all while raising money for the organization’s youth initiatives.

| On Saturday, April 22, 400 youth athletes participated in a sold-out 9th Annual Tampa Bay Kids Triathlon at Adventure Island. Kids from all over the state of Florida and several nearby states swam, biked and ran through the water park and donned their finisher medals with pride. During the post-race ceremony, Tampa Bay Sports Commission and EDI staff presented Dawn Lambert, mom to Gavin Lambert whom the race’s finish line is named after, with a check for $2,500 to the Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance, almost doubling last year’s contribution.

April Rewind and Upcoming Events |
The month of April proved to be one of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission’s busiest months of the year, with 13 events hosted at venues throughout Hillsborough County. Traditional and non-traditional sports were on full display with individuals and teams traveling from throughout the country, and in some cases internationally, to compete in cheerleading, swimming, soccer, rugby, volleyball, dragon boat racing, flag football and equestrian events.
