Red Bull Flugtag Tampa Announces Judges and Talent Before Taking Flight November 9

TAMPA, FL (October 29, 2024) – Ahead of the upcoming Red Bull Flugtag Tampa, which will take place on November 9 at the Tampa Bay Convention Center, five judges have been enlisted to help determine who will be crowned the 2024 winning team:
  • Andrei Vasilevskiy: NHL goaltender for the Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Derrick Brooks: Hall of Fame NFL player of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney: Global professional gamer, streamer and Tampa native
  • Caroline Marks: Gold medalist and World Champion pro surfer, Red Bull athlete
  • Twan Kuyper: YouTuber and global content creator
Scores will be given based on creativity of craft design, craft performance and flight distance as 32 flight crews launch from the 27-foot tall platform. Notable teams include two-time Red Bull Flugtag Tampa winner Fantastic Flying Legends of Wrestling, former NFL players Chris Long and Beau Allen’s team Put a Wing on It, local media That’s So Tampa / I Love the Burg’s craft The Spirit of St. Pete and much more. Over 80,000 people are slated to attend the free, outdoor event at the Tampa Convention Center with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Red Bull North America continues working with the City of Tampa and the Tampa Bay Sports Commission to ensure a fun day.
 
“After two major hurricanes in just 13 days, the City of Tampa is still standing, and now, it’s time to fly,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “The Tampa Convention Center is excited to host Red Bull Flugtag. We can’t wait to welcome all the fans and competitors in November and witness some epic launches into the bay.”
 
“Having an event like Red Bull Flugtag come in and not only generate a significant financial impact on our local businesses at a time when we could use it but also help shine a national spotlight on our hometown’s resiliency is truly amazing,” said Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.
 
In the spirit of celebration, the event will feature a National Anthem performance, DJ Dani, and Red Bull athlete Parks Bonifay as a special correspondent. The event will be featured on judge and mega-streamer Tfue’s Twitch page. Additional programming details will be released in the days to come.
