Tampa Bay Unites for Annual Holiday Sporting Goods Drive
Buccaneers' Rookie Johnthan Banks to Add Support to 2013 Donations Drive
TAMPA, FL – The Tampa Bay Sports Commission (TBSC), Elder Automotive Group and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will team up for the third consecutive year to take part in Replay Tampa Bay, a holiday sporting goods drive that will commence on December 8 at Raymond James Stadium and continue through December 28, 2013.
The program encourages members of the Tampa Bay community to assist local kids in need throughout the holiday season by donating new or gently used sporting goods to a designated drive location.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ December 8 home game against the Buffalo Bills will serve as the kickoff event for Replay Tampa Bay. Donation bins will be located throughout Raymond James Stadium parking lots at the yellow collection tents approaching stadium entrances. Additionally, Buccaneers’ rookie cornerback, Johnthan Banks, will help spearhead this year’s drive, supporting efforts throughout its duration.
Both the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Charities and Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athletic League will be the recipients of the contributions and will assist in the handing out of the donated items at their respective headquarters. Furthermore, both Elder Automotive Group dealerships will serve as drop off locations beginning December 9.
In 2012, over 600 items were collected for children in need, bringing the total to almost 1,000 donated items since its inception in 2011.
