Description: Tropicana Field is the home of the MLB’s Tampa Bay Rays. Originally named the Florida Suncoast Dome and then the ThunderDome, Tropicana Field’s 1.1 million square feet include unique design features and fan amenities found nowhere else in the Major Leagues. It is not just a home for baseball, however, as events from all over the world come to Tropicana Field. NCAA Football, hockey and basketball are just a few exciting events held under the Trop's roof. Additional facility details include 7,000 parking spaces, 56 restrooms, 37 concession stands, three restaurants, one first aid station, three escalators, five elevators, and will hold a grand total of 44,000 people for a Major League Baseball game.
New to Tropicana Field this year is Ballpark and Rec, an indoor/outdoor bar located behind the Budweiser Porch in Centerfield. On the inside, you will find a brand-new bar, TV's and some old school gaming favorites such as PAC-MAN, Skeeball & more. Outside, you can take in a view of downtown St. Pete's beautiful skyline, enjoy yard games like life size pong and Cornhole all while staying in touch with the game on the field by watching on one of the many TV's. The Trop also features a Rays Touch Experience where fans can see and interact with actual stingrays. Located in Center Field Street at Gate 1 just beyond the right-center field fence, this 10-minute experience is free to all fans attending a home game and can accommodate up to 45 people at a time.
