STAMFORD, Conn., April 9, 2021 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) and Nestlé Pure Life today announced a partnership with the Bullard Family Foundation and Feeding Tampa Bay to develop a Sustainable Community Garden Initiative. The announcement was made today at Sligh Middle Magnet School in Tampa, FL where the first of five sustainable community gardens was unveiled.
The Sustainable Community Garden Initiative was created in collaboration with the University of Florida IFAS Extension Service and Hillsborough Public Schools. The initiative will provide access to nutritious food for families and children and will be integrated into local school curriculums at each of the five garden locations to help educate communities about the importance of nutritious food.
The partnership will also include a $50,000 donation from WWE and Nestlé Pure Life to both Feeding Tampa Bay for their FRESHForce initiative which provides food support and culinary workforce development and on-the-job training to individuals with barriers to employment and the Bullard Family Foundation to develop and sustain each of the sustainable community garden locations.
“As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, food and nutrition insecurity has increased significantly in Tampa Bay,” said Stephanie McMahon, WWE Chief Brand Officer. “We are pleased to be partnering with Nestlé Pure Life to support Feeding Tampa Bay and the Bullard Family Foundation to help raise awareness for this critical issue and to affect lasting change in the Tampa community.”
"Our partnership at the Prosperity Center with Titus and the Bullard Family Foundation has elevated our FRESHforce culinary program to new heights," says Matt Spence, Chief Programs Officer at Feeding Tampa Bay." Together we embrace our neighbors with barriers to employment by providing a comprehensive training program that addresses those barriers while providing food support, building employability skills, and achieving industry-standard credentials. Thanks to WWE and Nestlé Pure Life for this week's generous donation of a combined $50,000 that will support an entire culinary cohort through our 8-week training program, efforts like these get Feeding Tampa Bay closer to our goal of a hunger-free Tampa Bay by 2025."
“Food insecurity is a critical issue that we are aggressively trying to combat. The only way to close the gap is to work alongside great organizations like Nestlé Pure Life, WWE and Feeding Tampa Bay. This is a great opportunity for us to not only provide access to nutritious meals but also educate those in underserved areas that have an interest in a culinary career,” said Titus O’Neil, WWE Global Ambassador, 2020 Warrior Award Recipient, and Founder of the Bullard Family Foundation.
“As long-time supporters of WWE and the Bullard Family Foundation, Nestlé Pure Life jumped at the chance to be able to help provide education, tools and nutritious meals to families in the Tampa Bay area. We know that healthy nutrition and hydration have been a challenge for many families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
