Pittsburgh, PA -- CollClubSports, the National Club Baseball Association, and the National Club Softball Association are excited to announce that they have renewed their agreement with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission to bring the 2020 East Coast Spring Training Showcase event back to Tampa, Florida. After another thrilling spring in 2019 with 61 baseball and softball teams playing across three and a half weeks at Mike Sansone Park in Plant City, FL, the anticipation for the 2020 showcase events is already building.
The complex at Mike Sansone Park features two full-sized baseball fields and an auxiliary practice field. In addition, the complex boasts two NCAA Regulation softball fields with four batting tunnels. Additional fields in the Plant City area will also be available as needed throughout the month-long showcase. The field crews and umpire staff at Mike Sansone Park are a huge part of the success that the showcase has seen over the last 14 years. The event has also added on other top-notch auxiliary baseball fields in the Plant City area, including the baseball stadium at Plant City High School and MLK Field at the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center. The NCBA is fortunate enough to have these facilities at our fingertips to make the 2020 Showcase the best one yet.
“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing relationship with the National Federation of Collegiate Club Sports Leagues and host the National Club Baseball and Softball Spring Training Showcase for the 15th consecutive year. The Tampa Bay Sports Commission takes tremendous pride in delivering a first-rate experience both on and off the field to all teams and their families and will work hand in hand with our convention and visitors bureau, Visit Tampa Bay, to raise the bar yet again in 2020,” commented Jason Aughey, Senior Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission.
For many, the Spring Training Showcase has become an annual event. This will be the 15th year that the NCBA and Tampa have partnered to host the annual tournament. The Tampa Bay area offers numerous activities for teams to enjoy on their Spring Break vacations when they aren't playing in Plant City. Participants can soak up the sun at nearby Clearwater Beach, ride rides at Busch Gardens or get tickets to see a Yankees Spring Training game in the heart of Tampa Bay. With so many things to do, teams should be sure to set aside some time to play some competitive spring baseball to set the tone of their season.
