Local Franchises, USF, Sports Commission Lead 50-50 Raffle
TAMPA, FL - The Tampa Bay Sports Commission, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lightning, Rays, Rowdies and University of South Florida have teamed up to host a two week, community-wide “Team Tampa Bay for Joey J 50-50 Raffle” to assist with the financial medical needs of 15 year old Joey Johnston, the son of legendary Tampa Bay sports writer, Joey Johnston.
The raffle will begin on Monday, August 13, and will conclude Monday, August 27, with the winner drawn on August 28. The raffle raises funds for the benefit of the Johnston Family to assist in offsetting anticipated medical, personal and household expenses resulting from injuries he sustained in a tragic accident on July 8, 2018.
“Just when we thought it wasn’t possible to be more proud of Team Tampa Bay, our sports community has come together in this unprecedented way to help a really special kid and family,” said Rob Higgins, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “We could not be more grateful to the Bucs, Lightning, Rays, Rowdies and USF for their support of the Johnston Family and the Team Tampa Bay for Joey J 50-50 Raffle.”
The raffle is valid for parties in the following counties: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota. Suggested raffle donations are as follows: 5-for-$10, 25-for-$20, 100-for-$40 and 250-for-$100. Additionally, local franchises have donated select items that will be offered as secondary prizes leading up to the pulling of the grand prize 50-50 raffle drawing on Tuesday, August 28.
