2018 Spring Training Showcase Returns to Tampa

Pittsburgh, PA - The National Club Baseball and Softball Associations are very excited to announce that the Spring Training Showcase will be returning to the Tampa Bay/Plant City area for the 2018 season! Going in to the 13th year of the partnership, the NCSA and NCBA are thrilled to be heading back to Mike E. Sansone Community Park and surrounding fields.

“The Tampa Bay Sports Commission is thrilled to announce a new agreement with the National Federation of Collegiate Club Sports Leagues, L.L.C. to host their 2018 National Club Baseball and Softball Spring Training Showcase,” says Jason Aughey, Senior Director of the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. “Entering into its 13th consecutive year in Tampa Bay, this showcase has experienced tremendous growth and generated significant economic impact for our community. Through our partnership with CollClubSports, we look forward to working collaboratively to raise the bar and create a first-rate experience for all collegiate club teams visiting Tampa Bay.”

Tracy Reardon, Director of Spring Training Operations at CollClubSports, echoes Aughey’s enthusiasm: “I am beyond excited to bring our event back to Plant City! Everyone at the Tampa Bay Sports Commission is like a second family to our staff and we all look forward to working with them year in and year out. The field crew and umpire staff are a huge part of the success that the event has seen for the last 12 years and we cannot thank them enough for everything they do for the showcase. For a lot of our teams the Spring Training Showcase has become an annual event for them as a club. Teams are able to shake off the rust from  the winter, see how new players fit into the roster and bond as a team in order to gear up for post season play. The Tampa Bay area offers various activities for teams to enjoy when they aren’t participating in the showcase and I think that the teams are able to make each trip memorable year after year because of this. I cannot wait to get back to Plant City for another great year of sunshine and spring ball!”
