TAMPA BAY SPORTS COMMUNITY TO ASSEMBLE AT 6TH ANNUAL TAMPA BAY SNEAKER SOIREE
On Thursday, June 16, the local sports community will again come together for Tampa Bay’s premier, annual “off-the-field” event, the Tampa Bay Sneaker Soiree. Hosted by the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, programming will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. at TPepin’s Hospitality Centre. The event is officially sold out.
Now in its sixth year, the Soiree will recognize a year’s worth of local sports properties’ on and off the field achievements, while commemorating leaders and key influencers throughout the Bay Area.
Three awards will spotlight the night. The Freddie Solomon Moral Courage Award is given to a person who shows tremendous courage in the face of adversity. The Tom McEwen Community Advocate of the Year Award is presented to a person or group of people in recognition of their outstanding support and advocacy of sports in Tampa Bay, and the Lee Roy Selmon Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed to an individual(s) that demonstrate a lifetime’s worth of incredible support for the Tampa Bay sports community.
The Sneaker Soiree and Budweiser will also crown its fourth ‘King of Tampa Bay Sports’. The contest allows for one local super fan the opportunity to attend over 200 Tampa Bay home sporting contests in 2016-17.
Bright House Sports Network will broadcast the event for an airing date that has yet to be determined. 620 WDAE, a Clear Channel station, will air the event live in its entirety.
